Creating Music Should Be Fun:
The most reliable motivator
for our students and their families is enjoyment! Arresting student develpment
with regimen and requirement is to be discouraged and replaced with small
musical accomplishments relevant and attractive to our students.
Creating Music Should Be Accessible
To Everyone:
The structure and grading of musical
ability threatens the right to musical self-expression. Student self-image
is paramount and performances and recording opportunities must be provided
to those who participate in our musical community.
Our Musical Community Should Be Inclusive
And Tolerant:
Every musician has something
unique to offer regardless of style or abilities. Every musical genre offers
something to be appreciated and a central identity to be respected.
Our Students Must Have The Tools To
Succeed:
Musical tools are essential
and must be provided in a timely manner at the appropriate stage of development.
Musical tools must represent an appropriate investment reflective of our student's
abilitites at the time of purchase.
Parents And Sponsors Must Be Educated:
Understanding the reasons behind
our decisions, actions and policies builds confidence in our musical community.
We must share our viewpoint as experienced musical consumers with those supporting
developing musicians. We cannot recommend or support products, services or
methods that we cannot defend with facts.
Our Teachers Are The Backbone Of Our
Business:
Teachers must instruct every
student as they wish they had been instructed. Teachers must be treated fairly
and equitably in order to develop a positive working relationship. Teachers
must be provided with the tools needed to succeed including program support,
facility design and student network integration.
OUR MUSICAL COMMMUNITY IS OUR FUTURE
